 Solar Pool Heating: Solar heating for swimming pools is one of the most cost effective applications for solar energy. For swimming pools that are used during the warmer months, we use unglazed, plastic pool collectors. We use the pool filter pump to divert the pool water up to the collectors where the water gets heated and returned to the pool. The addition of a solar pool heating system will not only extend the use of the pool in the spring and the fall but will keep the water comfortable all during the swimming season. For pools that are used all year round, we use flat plate collectors with anti-freeze and use an external heat exchanger to heat the pool water.
